Rewards Certificate Missing

We purchased a $1600 refrigerator on Black Friday. We never received our rewards certificate for opening our Best Buy Credit Card. We tried to use our points in January by having an employee look them up. He told us he couldn’t see them. Then he told us they probably haven’t been issued yet and to expect an email. Never received an email. I now think our points may be expired even though we never received a certificate. I am extremely unhappy with the lack if a rewards certificate and the possibility that they may have expired almost immediately and without our knowledge. Best Buy needs to train their in store employees better about rewards.

I want this remedied immediately so I can purchase a television.

Welcome to our community.  Congratulations on the new fridge and for becoming a Best Buy Credit Cardholder!  To me, one of the best perks of this credit card is the opportunity to earn 10% back in points for your first day of purchases after being approved.  I’m sure for such a large purchase, you were excited to see how many points you earned and could use to generate a new rewards certificate.

 

Points do not expire as long as a member’s account is still active and you are making purchases.  However, once those points are converted into certificates, you would typically have 60 days to redeem those certificates (unless otherwise noted) before they expire.  We’d generally be unable to reissue a certificate once it has expired.
