Reward certificate return question

Hello.

Last week I made a purchase using a promotional reward certificate that I ended up returning. When returning I asked about the reward certificate and if it would be returned and I was told it would be credited to my best buy account within 3-6 business days. It's only been 5 business days and still no credit so I started searching through the forums to see how to proceed if it didn't arrive soon. To my dismay I've found others in similar situations and I've learned promotional reward certificates are in fact usually not credited.

Looking at the email I received with the reward certificate there's no mention of this in the terms and conditions. If I had known the reward certificate would not have been credited back, I wouldn't have proceeded with the return, which is why I asked to make sure it would.

With that said, if you could please look into this and provide any assistance, I would much appreciate it. I have my order number and rewards certificate.

Many thanks in advance,

Re: Reward certificate return question

Good afternoon, Cdejesus24

While I consider myself to be pretty a boring guy, I admit that I get a little hyped whenever I a certificate finds its way into my rewards account.  Who doesn't like to save a dollar or two if they can?  And the need to redeem a certificate before it expires is a great excuse to provide my wife as to why I need to buy something else she feels I don't really need. It can generally take up to 3 days for a certificates point value to repost to a member's rewards account following a return or cancellation.  That time frame does not apply to bonus certificates issued as part of a promotional offer though as bonus certificates don't have an actual point value. Unlike an everyday certificate, no points are deducted from a member's rewards account to generate the bonus certificate.  They are considered more of a one-time coupon than a certificate.

I would like to take a closer look at your rewards account to ensure it is up-to-date and to see if there are any other potential questions I can help answer, so I will be sending you a private message shortly.  You can read a private message by first logging into the forum and then clicking on the envelope icon that is located at the very top of the page.
