Reward certificate refund

I preordered Animal Crossing: New Horizons way back when it was announced since I had the GCU discount at the time. However, there is now a combination pack that comes with both the game and a plush combined that's slightly cheaper, so I was interested in preordering that instead.

However, I had used a $20 reward certificate on my original purchase. I know you usually get the points back on those if you cancel, but my concern here is that I used the certificate probably about a year ago. It would have definitely expired by now if I hadn't used it then. Will I still have it reimbursed even this much later?

Finally, if anyone happens to know the answer, would preordering the digital version get you the phone & tech badge preorder bonus?

Re: Reward certificate refund

Hello, Tails,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your pre-order of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Using My Best Buy reward certificates is always exciting, but when you want to cancel an order, it can leave one wondering what may happen with the reward certificate.

When cancelling an order, typically you will be credited for the certificate. It is actually the points for the certificate that are credited back, allowing a new certificate to be issued. Because of this process, you should not need to worry about the original certificate's expiration date. With that said, please keep in mind that if it was a promotional certificate, which aren't issued from points, you would not be credited. These certificates are not issued from points as they are intended to be used as one-time use coupons.

As for the current bonuses available, it is my understand that the Phone Badge pre-order bonus is sold out. Currently, only the Bell Bag is available.

I hope this helps!
