Reward Points and Certificate Use

I have made several purchases of relatively decent value, however, I used a 5 dollar reward certificate that I accumulated at checkout. Is it to my understanding I am not going to receive any points for these purchases at all, even though the 5 dollar savings is essentially neglible to the actual purchase price, or should there be points issued on the total nondiscounted ammount spent?

Re: Reward Points and Certificate Use

Hello @gbmountaineer , you essentially answered the question. If you are using a certificate, a gift card, a coupon, no points will apply.

Re: Reward Points and Certificate Use

Hi there gbmountaineer,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out! When using various forms of payment, it's great to know what to expect for My Best Buy points from the purchase. There are certain forms of payment that do not qualify for points, such as gift cards, reward certificates, or our Best Buy Credit Cards when using a financing option. With that said, should these forms of payment not cover the entirety of the purchase, any portion paid for by a qualifying form of payment would receive points. In short, the portion of your purchase not covered by the $5 reward certificate should receive points.

For more details, please feel welcome to review our My Best Buy Terms
