Reward Certificates issued automatically after Best Buy credit card's first purchase.

[ Edited ]

I was accepted to BestBuy credit card and used it to buy a Macbook pro for my first purchase. The purchase also achieved me my BestBuy elite status. But my points were added and issued as rewards certificates.

I was not able to choose to bank the points after I spent enough money to achieve Elite status. The option was only made available after the points were added and certs issued.

I want help to add the certs back as banked points.

Re: Reward Certificates issued automatically after Best Buy credit card's first purchase.

Good afternoon, EStark,

Thank you for registering with the forum, and being an Elite member as well as My Best Buy credit card holder! A MacBook Pro was my first purchase on my My Best Buy credit card, so I can understand how exciting this purchase was. While the MacBook Pro is exciting to begin with, the rewards received from such an investment are pretty incredible to.

Purchases typically take 15-20 days to post to one's account. This means you won't see the points, your spending bar, or tier status updated until this time. As your points post and are automatically converted to reward certificates the same time as your tier status is updated, typically there is not an opportunity to switch your certificate preference to bank your points for this first purchase. Once certificates are issued, we're typically unable to convert them back. For more details, you may wish to review the My Best Buy FAQ

With that said, I would be happy to review your account with you to ensure you're setup for success. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right corner of the page for the private message I'm sending your way.
