Reverse Rewards Certificates

Hi,
I was automatically issued $100 and $15 certificates. I noticed it was set to auto issue at $20, so how do I have $100 and $15 certificates? There isn’t even an option to issue at $15 so again, how is this possible? Please assist me with returning my certificates into points. I don’t know how or when my account was set to auto issue certificates but I changed it back to point banking today.

Re: Reverse Rewards Certificates

Hello, Jokeke,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for being a My Best Buy member! Keeping a close eye on your rewards is a great habit to have, but I can understand your concern if you believed you were banking your points but saw rewards had been issued.

It is incredibly peculiar that your certificate preference may have changed, causing $115 in rewards to be issued. We typically see this occur if a customer's My Best Buy tier status expired, leaving them without the benefit of banking their rewards, but even so, this typically resets the certificate preference to $5. It is possible though that your tier status expired earlier this year, as statuses expire at the end of every February, but that you regained the status with a recent purchase. For more details on tier expiration, please feel welcome to review the post below.
