I hope all is well. I am trying to report a missing points and I get this "An unexpected error occurred." message instead.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me getting my points.

Welcome to the Best Buy forum.
The best way to ensure your purchases are awarded every possible point they qualify for is by making sure each one is attached to your rewards account. A single point can be what keeps you from earning that next certificate. Luckily, as you appear familiar with, there is a tool on BestBuy.com that allows members to report purchases not already attached to their rewards account as "missing." I have used that tool on several occasions to report some of my own purchases.
There are a few things to keep in mind when trying to report a purchase as missing on BestBuy.com that could potentially result in an error message. Was your purchase processed more than 180 days ago? A purchase cannot be reported if more than 180 days sold. Did you have an existing rewards account prior to the purchase? A purchase cannot be reported if processed prior to joining the program. Has the purchase in-question been fulfilled (shipped or picked up)? A purchase, such as a pre-order, cannot be reported until it has been fulfilled.
