Recent Promotion

Recently,  I received a coupon promoting 10% in reward points for a limited time if I use my BestBuy Credit Card.  This coupon is valid only for in-store purchases.  


Because of overwhelming advisories to avoid non-essential travel due to Covid-19 (particularly because I fall into a high-risk category), I made my purchase over the phone with the hope that the in-store only requirement would be waived.


This was not to be.  The rep. I spoke with said they could not override the promo though I offered to provide the promo UPC.  


I understand that this may've just been a case of bad timing of the promotion, but it was frustrating, nonetheless.  


While staying safe and acting prudently are more important to me than getting an additional 5% back in rewards, I believe BestBuy should re-launch this promotion without the in-store only requirement.

I was going to post the same, actually. The offer sounds great (10% back on any in-store purchase) but in-store purchases are rather difficult for a lot of folks right now.

I hope you’re doing well and staying healthy during this trying time. 10% in rewards is a super awesome promotion and I totally understand wanting to take advantage of offers like this despite concerns about staying away from the public as much as possible to observe social distancing recommendations.


Regarding your question about the current terms and time frame of your coupon, I believe you are referencing an offer that goes out to a random selection of members each month. The terms of this coupon do stipulate purchase must take place in store, and as mentioned by the phone agent you spoke with, we would not be able to over-ride the terms of that coupon or extend the coupon time frame. While not the answer I know you’re hoping for, it’s my understanding that Best Buy has no current plans to change the end date of the coupon you received. With this said, if anything should change, we will be sure to post updates here on the Best Buy forum.


In the meantime, please know that your comments and concerns have been recorded here at the Best Buy Corporate office so that they will be available for internal consideration as we move forward.
