Hello, I purchased Logitech computer speakers online on Oct 7 using a $50 reward certificate. I returned them in the Culver City store on Oct 30 and was told by the cashier that the certificate should show up on my account in 5-10 days. I'd been checking my BestBuy account so I could purchase a different speaker, but never saw it show up.
This past Wednesday I called BestBuy customer support to find out what was going on and was told that reward certificates don't get refunded as part of a return. I explained that had I been told this I wouldn't have returned the speakers and thrown away $50. I was told this was policy and there was nothing he could do, so I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. I was transferred and then the call was ended. I called back, spoke to someone else who tried to get a supervisor for me, said no one was available and someone would call me within 24 hours.
I still haven't heard back, so I'm trying to get help via this forum. I would like the $50 certificate to be reinstated since I was a) misinformed by BestBuy staff and b) it's a ridiculous policy. I've probably spent close to $8,000 with BestBuy over the past 3-4 years but will take my business elsewhere if this does not get resolved.

Correct, they do get re-issued back to your account. I wonder if your certs were about to expire and when they are re-issued, they could not because the validity has passed.
Don't think that would be the case but would be curious to know what Best Buy says.
I did return something or cancel something once and I did get my reward cert back immediately after cancelling and the refund took place so something is up.
Hope you can figure it out!

Hi, AdamVagley, and welcome to our online community!
Thank you for posting on our forum for support. I hate to hear you haven't been given clear information on how our process works for refunding certificates. For regular certificates, those should post back to your account within three days of your return.
On the other hand, bonus/promotional certificates are intended to be one-time use coupons, which you mentioned your $50 one was. No points are awarded for these certificates, so when the points are credited for most certificates, there is nothing to be returned for promotional ones. For more details on this, you may wish to review the post below.
Return or Cancellation - Where is my reward certificate?
I understand this wasn't an ideal experience though, so I would be happy to review this further with you. Please send me a private message including your full name, email, and phone number to start. You can find the blue option to message me to the right of my name below.
All the best,
