I used a certificate but the product I bought - an allegedly "Excellent" open box was not "Excellent" - that is, missing parts. So I returned it and my certificate must have been re-issued but expired, possibly at the original expiration date. Due to this expiration date I am going to cancel my Best Buy credit card and if I do buy from Best Buy I will use my higest rewards regular card instead.

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear that your product did not arrive in the condition you were expecting, and was missing parts. That certainly doesn't sound like "Excellent," Open Box Certified, so I'm glad that you were able to get that returned.
I'm sorry to hear that your returned certificate expired before you were able to use it. These are generally valid for 60 days before they expire. I'd be happy to take a look into this and see what I could do to help, however. Please send me a private message with your full name, email, phone number, and the order number or customer PIN you used the certificate on.
