Re: Reward Certificates issued without me knowing it

So I opened a new Best Buy visa account.  I made a large purchase on the card at Pacific Sales, so I will have about $500 in rewards. But right now in my points history these points are "PENDING." I also will have purchased more than $3500 so I will get elite plus status as soon as this is no longer pending. But I can't yet "bank" my points since they aren't in my account yet. How do I get to choose this option without the certificates automatically issuing once the points are no longer pending?

Welcome to the forum! This inquiry definitely makes sense, and I'll be happy to clarify what to expect from your rewards. 

Firstly, congratulations on your new Best Buy Visa card and your new appliances purchased from Pacific Sales. When selecting standard financing on your first purchase, you should receive 10% back in rewards. On appliance purchases, this can mean quite a bit in points, so I'm sure you're eagerly awaiting them to post. Please keep in mind that Pacific Sales purchases may take up to 30 days to post, whereas regular Best Buy purchases may post in 15-20. 


Typically tier statuses will be upgraded at the same time your purchase posts. Generally this means that your points for your first purchase that pushes you beyond the spending requirements for the tier will not be able to be banked, as certificates will be automatically issued before the certificate preference may be modified. Once certificates are issued, they're unable to be converted back to points.
