Re: Revert auto issued certificate to banked points?

[ Edited ]

I saw your response to the request to convert auto issued certicates back to banked points for new Elite members. I have the same problem, and would like my certificates converted back to bankable points. (I have been checking the Best Buy site every day for a chance to have my Elite status recognized so I could turn on point banking. I logged in this morning to see that I am now elite status, and my certificates were issued with absolutely no chance for me to turn on point banking before it happened.)

My name is Michael {removed per forum guidelines}. Email address {removed per forum guidelines}. Phone number is {removed per forum guidelines}.

If I don't hear back from you today, I'll assume that your post may no longer be valid, and will pursue this through some other mechanism. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: Revert auto issued certificate to banked points?

Hi, Michael,

Welcome to our forums!  You can certainly assume you’ve come to the right place for help, and I’ll be happy to offer my assistance.

This is typically the time of year when My Best Buy™ members who have not requalified for their tier status the prior year will have their current tier status expire.  It sounds like this is the case for your account, which is why you may have noticed your points recently be converted to reward certificates.  We have more information regarding tier expiration in our Knowledge Base FAQ, which you’ll find here.

I’d like to look into your account further to make sure we’re exploring all options available to you, and as you can see, we’ve removed your sensitive information from your public post to protect your privacy.  I’d like to continue this trend by discussing your My Best Buy™ account with you via private message, so I’ll be sending you a message momentarily.  To read my message, you’ll want to log into your Support Forum account, and look to the orange envelope in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.  If you’re accessing our site on a mobile device, you may need to switch to “Full” or “Desktop” view to see this envelope.

See you up there,
