I am having this same issue! Now that I am searching online, I can see it is not just me. It seems so unfair for Best Buy not to refund this certificate. I would not even care if Best Buy kept the original shortened expiration date for the reissued certificate, but it is unfair to the customer not to reissue it at all. I don't know if others on this forum got help from any mod, but I am hoping I am able to get help on my issue. I literally just placed the order last night and soon after placing it realized that the product is different than what I intended. The order is still in process and not even ready for in store pickup yet. I am really hoping I can get this promotional certificate refunded.

Thank you for posting on our forum for support. I'm happy to shed light on how our reward certificates work when it comes to a situation like yours. For regular certificates, those should post back to your account within three days of your return.
On the other hand, bonus/promotional certificates are intended to be one-time use coupons, which it sounds like this one you are referring to was. No points are awarded for these certificates, so when the points are credited for most certificates, there is nothing to be returned for promotional ones.
