Your site will not store my password for more than a few hours. I try logging in a second time and I am rejected. I must rechange my password. What is the problem? Help!

Thanks for posting here on the Best Buy Community Forum about the issue you've been experiencing with the Best Buy website and your password. To ensure I'm on the same page, are you saying that you successfully login but then it asks to reset your password every time you try to log in? If this is a correct understanding, below I will include some common trouble shooting steps:

 

  • Are you manually entering the correct password? If using a saved password, sometimes the wrong one can be saved, so please try manually entering your password.
  • Do you have an ad blocker? If yes, turn it off and attempt to log in again.
  • Do you use a VPN? If yes, try to log in without accessing the site through the VPN.
  • What browser are you using? Certain browser types can interfere with security features on our website, which may cause problems. Please try using an alternative browser like IE, Chrome, or Firefox. Also be sure to use an English based browser. As Best Buy only ships and delivers to U.S. addresses (or territories), many foreign language versions of browsers are not supported.
  • Are you using a hosting service? If yes, please try to log in on an open network.  
  • Are you trying to log in from a non-private WI-FI network like at a restaurant, coffee shop, or the airport? If yes, try using your mobile device's data or using a private WI-FI network like a personal home network.
  • Ensure you are logged out of the website on all devices. Then, clear your cache and cookies before trying to log in again.

Yes.  I did successfully reset my password.  Much hair-pulling!  Resetting a password should not be this hard.
