I just bought a laptop from BB less than a month ago and was thinking today that I was going to return it and buy one that is double the price because I'm not happy with the performance. I've enjoyed 45 day return policy for years as I have been an elite member every year since they started the program. I easily spend between 5-10k a year at BB. I send tons of people there for the same reason, great return policy.
So I checked my account today and all mention of elite or any levels at all is gone. I remember when they started pre-charging people to return items (i think it's called total tech or something) because I was going to buy a $2000 camera but wasnt sure I would like the new mirrorless digital cameras so I just asked about the returns because cameras have always been funny. That's the first time I heard that BB is no pre-charging for the ability to return items. Needless to say, I didn't buy it. The rest of the returns were the same at the time.
Here I am today with a laptop that is not performing as expected and I'm stuck with it. I normally would have another 15 days to return it. The last reason to buy products at BB is now gone.
As a side note, the elite membership was rewarding people that spend a bunch of money in your stores. It was the one thing that kept me coming back. But now I guess I will just use Amazon. They ships WAY faster. The returns are almost as easy if not easier since the dropoff location is close. The prices are the same if not better. Remind me again why I should buy anything at BB again? Someone upstairs should rethink this policy.
