I need help with a similar issue. I sent you a PM but in case you're not still with the company or not still handling this sort of thing I figured I would reach out here as well.
The issue is the same as the above user, expect I think the name change happened systematically when I used my mothers credit card for a purchase years ago. She has never had anything to do with my account. It has always been my account. It is really confusing why her name would be attached to my account at all, so again, all I can think is that somehow the system automatically took the name on the credit card to change the account name.

Hi there, MatthewNovetske,
Welcome to our community forums. I appreciate you taking the time to write to us regarding your My Best Buy account. As someone who uses my account constantly, I can imagine how confusing it would be for this account to be under a different name. I would be glad to take a closer look into this to see how we may be able to help.
Typically, we can update a My Best Buy account in the event of misspellings, swapped first and middle names, and legal name changes. We are unable to transfer or update these accounts to a different person even in the event they are a spouse or family member. With that said, it's very strange to hear that this account changed names and I'd like to review this further.
I see that you send Derek a private message with a bit more information. Please allow me a few moments to review this. I'll be sending you a private message shortly. You can check your inbox by clicking the orange envelope in the top right of your screen after logging in.
How do I update my My Best Buy™ information?
Regards,
