Question about a nearly year old transaction and the reward points applied to it....

I bought a washer and dryer as well as a dehumidifier from Best Buy this past May or so and put $1000 of that transaction on a newly approved My Best Buy Citi card. My math tells me I should've received about $50(2.5 points per dollar x $1000) in rewards from that transaction. I got a measly $5 TOTAL from the whole $1200+ transaction, which also included one of your extended warranties.Smiley MadSmiley LOL

 

Yet I guess that's ONLY if you go with 'standard' credit, as we went with a deferred interest promotion so we could pay the balance off over time. 

 

Anyway if there's any chance of somebody looking at this purchase to see if maybe things got miscalculated that would be great because I still think a meager $5 for $1200+ in purchases was laughable.

Welcome back to the forum, though I wish it were under better circumstances. After making such a large purchase as a washer and dryer, I can imagine you were incredibly excited to receive and redeem the rewards. I'm sure you were pretty disappointed to only receive $5 in rewards from this purchase. 


As you mentioned you put a large portion of this purchase on a My Best Buy credit card, and chose a financing option, this portion of the purchase would not qualify for points per our My Best Buy program terms. I apologize if you were unaware of these terms, and if this information would have impacted your financing decision. 

While I imagine the $5 you received was from points received for the portion not applied to the credit card with financing offer, I would be happy to confirm this is what happened.
