Promotion Rewards Offer

In April 2020, Best Buy Visa Credit Card offered a $50 reward certificate if I made five $20 purchases outside of BB on the card by 4/25/20.  Due too COVID-19, we were in quarantine so I made my fifth purchase online on 4/22/2020.  The charge didn't post to the account until 4/28/20.  I have spoken with reps at Rewards three times, Credit Card reps, written messages to Credit Card, and was to receive a call from a Customer Service Rewards supervisor since 6/3/20.  On my last call to Rewards Support, they advised me in a very rude manner that the posted date was too late for the promotion.  Its UNREASONABLE TO EXPECT A PURCHASE TO TAKE 6 DAYS TO POST.  Regardless, I made the purchase timely and trusted Best Buy to DO THE RIGHT THING and award the $50 certificate THAT WILL BE SPENT AT BEST BUY.  I tried again to speak to a supervisor and the rude rep informed me that she couldn't forward the message as I am not primary on the account.  My husband was away so could not speak to her.  I am an authorized user of this account and it seemed she was being punitive because I disputed the policy.  When I tried to add my husband to a conference call, she hung up the phone.  I have spent a couple of hours attempting to get this resolved favorably on my behalf.  We have been a long time customer and Credit Card holder with BB.  It is VERY POOR customer service not to honor the promotion $50 certificate.  Please advise what else can be done.  Thank you in advance.

Re: Promotion Rewards Offer

Hello, DivaGolf,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for reaching out regarding the outside spending offer on your husband's My Best Buy Visa that you are an authorized user on. Not receiving an offer you expected to qualify for would be most frustrating, so I am glad you have reached out to see what options may be available. With that said, I understand you have been disappointed in your experiences thus far with our support teams.

I'm familiar with the spend $20 or more five times to receive a $50 reward offer you've mentioned. In order to qualify, the transactions would need to post within the offer period. Furthermore, while you may be an authorized user on the credit card account, which is issued by Citibank, please know that My Best Buy memberships are intended for individual use. As such, it is likely that only your husband is listed as the member on our end, explaining why we must speak with him regarding any such rewards. For more information, you may wish to review our My Best Buy Terms and Privacy Policy

Should your husband like to register with the forum to reach out directly, I would be delighted to further discuss this offer with him. He may send me a private message via the link in my signature below, including his name, phone number, and email address.

Thank you,
