Points and purchase on wrong account

Hello!

 

I bought my mother a new washer and dryer for the 4th of July sale. I used my best buy credit card for the purchase to receive the 5% back in rewards. My mother had to enter her information in since it was a delivery and install purchase. The team member assured me I would receive the points and not my mother, and that the information was only needed for the delivery and install. Once I got home I checked my account and didn't see the points nor the purchase. I saw that the receipt had the wrong member ID on it. So now I'm not sure what to do. I tried making a new account with the member ID that was on the receipt to see if my points and large purchase was on there and it worked, so I think it was a brand new account. I would like to have the points and purchases transfered to my acocunt(not my mother's brand new account I created to see if the points and purchases were there) please.

Thanks for posting your concerns about the recent purchase you made for your mother. I know I would want to receive points for such a large investment, as well! I’ll be more than happy to speak to you about this in greater detail to see what may be possible going forward.

 

So you’re aware, earned My Best Buy points should not post on your account right away, though they may show as “Pending”.  As the washer and dryer will have to be delivered, it’s likely points won’t post until about 15 days after the delivery date. See the My Best Buy FAQ for more information. With that said, you mentioned that you believe the purchase is attached to a new My Best Buy account. I would like to take a closer look at your account and the appliance order so I can best advise and assist going forward.  To that end, please send me a private message with your full name, phone number, email address, primary My Best Buy ID, and either the customer service PIN from the appliance purchase (if bought in-store) or order number (if bought online). As you may already know, you should be able to send a private message by selecting that option in my signature below this post.
