Password reset attempt gets THERE'S NO ACCOUNT TIED TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS (BestBuy emails tho)

Summary of my problem:

 

After attempting a password reset for my BB Rewards account, instead of a password reset email, I received the following message: 

 

PASSWORD RESET DIDN'T WORK--THERE'S NO ACCOUNT TIED TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS

 

This is incorrect, as the email account receiving the above message is the same email account BestBuy uses to send me information, including a recent message advising me to use my BB reward points by a deadline or risk losing some of them. And it was from within that same email that I clicked on a link to visit my BB account, which landed me at a BB login page. 

 

However, I couldn't successfully login, and clicked on the FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD? link, which promted me to enter the email address I needed my password reset sent to (the same email as mentioned throughout this message).  Almost immediately, a BestBuy email hit my inbox that said the following:   

PASSWORD RESET DIDN'T WORK--THERE'S NO ACCOUNT TIED TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS

 

Additional information: 
In order to even be able to send this request for support, I knew I would have to create a new BestBuy account, so I opted for the "LOGIN VIA FACEBOOK" option.  I'm afraid that this may have made my problem worse, however, because my "new" BestBuy account utilized data from my Facebook account, including the same email account referenced before, the same email account about which BestBuy's automated password reset request said: THERE'S NO ACCOUNT TIED TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS.  

 

Resolution requested: 
Here's what I'd like you to help me accomplish.  (1) Fix my inability to login to my original BestBuy rewards account before my points expire on October 20, 2020.

I know that you'll need additional information from me to isolate my original account and also to distinguish it from the Facebook-related account I just created in order to be able to use this BestBuy support channel.  Please let me know what information you'll need and I'll furnish it.
