Online order - item was "return to sender" - when will points post?

Hello !

 

I had an order online with Best Buy. I wanted to cancel an item in the order, and BBY customer service advised me to ask the shipper to "Return to Sender".

 

I did so : and was able to complete that with UPS on March 24.

 

The order was paid for with a reward certificate.

 

When will I be able to get that certificate back to use it on a new order?

Thank you for registering with the forum to reach out regarding your certificate return. I understand that you decided against an item you ordered online, and desired to cancel it. It sounds like it had already shipped, which means simply cancelling it would not be an option. It would need to be returned and a refund processed. I'm glad to hear you connected with UPS to get the return to sender process started. 

 

Typically, once a return is processed, one could expect to see a certificate credited in just a few days. With that said, there may be some exceptions, such as if it was a promotional certificate. Promotional certificates are intended to be one-time use coupons, and are issued without any point value. As it is typically point value that is credited upon a return, there would be no points to be returned for promotional certificates.
