Hi,
I noticed in the new terms and conditions of the My Best Buy program, it states:
"Reward certificate value forfeited upon return of product or service purchased with certificate."
Does this now mean if you need to return an item that you purchased with a certificate that the points will not be refunded as they have in the past? The emails sent out alerting changes to the program were coming did not call out this sigifnicant change, so I'd like to make sure I understand completely.

Hi J.Ezra,
My question is not specific to my account.
I'm asking for clarification of the terms and conditions listed on the website for the My Best Buy Program.
It does not require you to look up my specific account: I just need to know if points are no longer refundable as the terms seem to indicate.
Thank you.

Yes that is correct. Rewards certificate value forfeited upon return of a product or service purchased with certificate. You can view more of the policy here.
Thanks,

Thank you. I already read the policy ... I told you I did ... that's why I asked for confirmation ... I don't need it linked to me again.
Now if you buy something and want to return it (for example, defective item and no replacement available), you just lose the points you earned by spending money to begin with.
I can see why Best Buy didn't advertise that change either. You should update the FAQ in these forums becuase they say points will be returned within 3 days (you had a good month to update all old materials, based on when you first sent out emails about changes coming) - but I'm not surprised if the inconsistencies.
it really seems like Best Buy is doing all it can to push customers away with making policies as unfriendly as possible. Interesting business model.
Thanks again.
