I was having some issues with missing reward certificates and after a call to Customer Service I found out that I had multiple accounts and that the reward certificates were going to a second account. The associate told me that they were going to merge the two accounts together and after some time on the phone I was able to use the reward certificates that were missing.
I thought that after the two accounts were merged that the second account would be closed and all the points that were accumulated on the second account would be moved over to the primary account that I am using now?
As of right now, I still have two accounts; one where all of my recent purchases including my protection plans reside and the second one with reward points still sitting in it.
How does the merge really work and does it take several days to occur?

With the increased volume due to the holiday season, a request submitted via (888) BEST BUY to have multiple rewards accounts merged may take a little longer than normal to be reviewed and processed.
