Issue with rewards points after pricematch

I did a pricematch on 7/11/22 for a purchase made on 6/8/22. During the period of 7/8/22 - 7/11/22 there was apparently a promotion for 20% extra rewards on purchases. When I was given the pricematch on the 6/8 order an additional 20% in rewards were removed from my account. Since the original purchase was on 6/8 this does not seem like it should have happened since the original purchase was not made during the promo period. Please advise.
