I recently noticed vis a standard Best Buy deals email that I have a 10$ certificate which will expire in 8 days - but I never issued it...
I had enough 569 points in my account but I wanted to wait and accumulate more for a bigger certificate, but for some reason I guess the certificate was auto-issued (with no formal notice of that happening...)
Also, as it happens I am currently out of the country and cannot use by the time it expires - is there anyway to extend the deadline of it? Even by a week?...
Thank you for your attention,

The certificate is expiring, utilize it before midnight of the expiration date, no extensions per program rules. Even if your're out of the country you can still use it online. Also in your account you can choose to have them issued at higher amounts beyond the standard minimum of 250 points/$5 certificate.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your reward certificate! There are a few reasons a certificate may be issued despite your certificate preference.
First, outside spending offers on our My Best Buy Visa are issued without any change to points, and are issued regardless of certificate preference. Second, if a tier status expires and someone banking their points is no longer able to, certificates will be automatically issued. Third, if an account has been inactive for a period of 12 months, existing points may be converted to a certificate if possible, and any remaining points after the certificate has been issued expire. For more details, you may wish to check out our My Best Buy Terms.
I would be happy to review your membership to see exactly what happened. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right corner of the page for my private message.
