Merging My Best Buy™ Rewards Accounts



Q:  What options do I have if I have more than one rewards account?

A:  If you have more than one rewards account, then we can potentially merge them into one primary rewards account.



Q:  What happens when my rewards accounts are merged?

A:   The secondary rewards account(s) is closed with any active active points, certificates, tier status, and spend total being transferred over to the primary rewards account.



Q:  Will my purchase history transfer following the merge?

A:  No. Only active points, certificates, tier status, and spend total will transfer.



Q:  Are there any suggestions when merging my rewards accounts?

A:  To ensure you receive the maximum number of points, we suggest making a rewards account that is attached to a My Best Buy™ credit card or Visa card the primary rewards account. (A rewards account tied to a Visa card will always be made the primary)



Q:  If my significant other and I or a family member have separate rewards accounts, can we merge them together?

A:  No. If the name associated with each rewards account is different, then we cannot process a merge.  It's intended for a rewards account to be used by a single member.



Q:  What information do you need from me when merging multiple rewards accounts?

A:  We would need your name, phone number, mailing address, and email address.  Only current (primary) information is needed.



Q:  Can I merge my own rewards accounts through

A:  No.  You would need to send us your merge request.  You can also submit a request by calling (888) BEST BUY (888) 237-8289.



Q:  Where can I send my merge request?

A:  You can send your request via a private message to the MyBestBuy inbox on the Best Buy forum by clicking here (must register for the forum to send your request). Please include your name, phone #, mailing address, and email address.



Q:  How long does it take to merge accounts?

A:  Once complete, it can take up to 24 hours for the merge to fully process and for any points/certificates in the secondary rewards account(s) to transfer over to the primary rewards account.



Q:  After my rewards accounts have been merged, is there anything else that I need to do?

A:  Log into to make sure you can access the primary rewards account.
