I've got the Best Buy store credit card, I'm an Elite member, and I have a coupon for 10% back in rewards. The coupon says "Maximum of 2,500 points". If I make a $1,000 purchase, how many points will I get?
With just the credit card and Elite status, I should get 5% = 2,500 points = $50.
If I use the 10% rewards coupon, will I get an additional 2,500 points for a total of 5,000 points for the purchase+coupon? Or a total of 2,500 points (meaning the coupon adds nothing because the purchase already earns 2,500)? Or something else?
Thanks for the help!

Good afternoon, roadwwork,
Thank you for taking the time to connect with us.
While I jumped at the opportunity to take advantage of our 10% back in points offer a few years ago, a coupon for 10% back could really hit the spot right now, especially with a new refrigerator in my future. Who can't use a few extra points, right? Those with a My Best Buy™ credit card or Visa card can earn 5% back in points (6% back for Elite Plus) everyday when selecting standard financing. That would be about 2.5 points for every $1 pre-tax. The 10% back coupon you have would award another 5% back, for a grand total of 10%, with a 2,500 points maximum.
Let's use your example of a purchase with a pre-tax total of $1,000. You would get 2,500 points just for using your My Best Buy™ credit card with standard financing and another 2,500 points from the coupon for a grand total of 5,000 points. If the pre-tax total were $2,000, then you would get 5,000 points for using your My Best Buy™ credit card and 2,500 from the coupon for a total of 7,500 points. I hope that helps answer your questions. Let me know if you have any others or feel free to send me a private message by clicking on the blue button in my signature.
