I made a purchase last night and applied both a GC and a reward certificate to the payment. Both were excepted the the final price reflected both items; however, when I got my order confirmation only the reward certificate had been honored. The CG has "pending authorization". I waited 24 hours and checked the order status on Best Buy's website and it had not changed. I contacted Customer Support who informed me that only one could be honored - either the GC or Reward certificate. I have used both before in the same transaction, when did the policy change. It defects the purpose of Gift Cards, which should be treated as cash, and having a rewards program if you can't use the reward. Needless to save, I cancelled the ordered which prompts the next two questions, when will the GC be useable again and when will the ceriticated be creditted back to my account (it does have an expiration date)

apoligize for the grammer and spelling errors - it was typed in haste and I can't seem to find "edit". Anyway, both the GC and Reward certificate was accepted and the final price was reduced to reflect both items; however, .......

I love saving and using any reward certificates or gift cards I have, and I can totally understand you wanting to do the same! While you should be able to use My Best Buy reward certificates and Best Buy Gift Cards on the same order, please keep in mind that it would need to meet the Terms and Conditions for usage. Depending on the item you purchased, or if another form of payment was used on the order, it may require additional verification or authorization which can take up to 24 hours. We ask that you please keep an eye out in all of your email inboxes should this be required.
With that said, I understand that you had since cancelled that order. If you made a purchase using reward certificates and your order is returned or cancelled, we will refund the points to your My Best Buy account within 3–6 business days. If you cancel an order that was paid for with a gift card, the purchase amount will be credited to your gift card within 30 minutes of the cancellation. I ask that you keep an eye out for the refund and points to post!
