I purchased a Garmin Vivosport last April 27, 2018 and also purchased a 2 year year geek Squad Protection plan at the same time. Band is broken now and I need to return defective unit to a store for a replacement. The original transaction was:
Price of Vivosport = $169.99
My BestBuy Point certificates = $85.00
Cash paid = $84.99
Will my credit for the replacement device be $169.99 or $84.99? I would think it would be for the full price of the original item ($169.99) since the total of my original payments was $169.99 but just wanted to verify before going to the store. Thanks.

Welcome, fisherma95!
Thanks for posting your question!
My understanding is that you should be able to fulfill your Geek Squad Replacement Plan to receive a comparable item or a store credit not to exceed the original purchase price of the item. If store credit is provided, it is possible that you may receive the points back into your My Best Buy account within three days of returning your item and a store credit for the cash amount originally paid.

Thank you for the response Fey -
So if I understand correctly I will either:
1) Receive a comparable item, which would be great. You still sell the Vivosport so that should be easy as long as it's in stock.
or
2) if replacement is not available, receive store credit for the purchase price. That credit will be combination of points put back into account and the actual cash paid.
Do I have this right?

Mark,
Yes, that is my current understanding. It may vary, depending on the processing options available at your local store.
