Friend gave me a rewards certificate but it won’t work

My friend had a $15 rewards certificate when he bought over $1500 in stuff so he gave it to me. When I opened the email it even had my name on it, with a barcode, my member number and a certificate number. CS says I can’t use it cause it’s from my friends account.

If that’s the case why does the certificate say my name on it, with my member number?

Good afternoon, CenturionElite,

Thank you for taking the time to reconnect with us on the forum. Smiley Happy

Sounds like you have a generous friend.  Does he need another friend?  I do have openings.  If the certificate displays your name and rewards ID, then it may belong to you.  It may have belonged to you from the start, especially when a member cannot gift one of their certificates to someone else.  A rewards account is intended to be used by one member with that member not sharing their benefits, points, or certificates with anyone else.  Please send me a private message with the below information, by clicking on the blue button in my signature, and I will take a closer look.
