Hi Best Buy mods - I made a purchase (TV and blu-ray player) in January using the BB citibank credit card. It was the first purchase made on the card in store. The next day after the purchase the price went down on the TV so I chatted with bestbuy.com and was able to receive a price adjustment. A few days after that I saw the points load onto my account. I could see the double points earned from the promo purchase as well as the base points. A few days after that I saw that the points were voided and then re-loaded. However, the double points were taken away and not given back.
It seems that the "price-match" is really a return and repurchase. So points are taken away and re-issued. That really stinks and isn't specified anywhere on any policy that I could find.
Can you help?

I should clarify one thing - I said 'double points'... it was the "New Cardmember Bonus" which worked out to be double points.

Welcome to our forums, and congrats on your new TV and Blu-ray player! The first thing I bought when I became a My Best Buy™ Visa cardholder was a new TV as well, so I hope you’re enjoying yours as much as I’ve enjoyed mine.
10% back in points for your first purchases is a great reward for opening a My Best Buy™ credit card, so I completely understand why you’d want to make sure you’re not leaving any points on the table after your price match. Our system may not recognize your first purchase accordingly if there’s any sort of modification, (a price match in this instance) after the fact, which may explain the changes in your point totals you’ve been describing.
I’d like to look into these purchases further to make sure you’re not missing out on any bonus points, but for me to do so, I’ll ask you to send me a private message with the following information:

Hi Forum admins -
Hoping you can help me... again. Just last week I had posted about my points not being correctly issued after two price corrections (basically return and re-purchase). The issue was resolved with the help of two admins. I was happy, all was right, and I was thinking about what purchase I would use my certificates on.
I got an email this morning stating that my $5 certificate was ready for use. I quickly logged in and found that my points issued to me last week were now gone and... get this - you'll like this... I'm back where I started. [facepalm]

Can you please send along another private message, re-verifying your name, email address, phone number, and My Best Buy number?
I'll check this out and see if I can determine what's going on with those points being used by someone who isn't you.
