Expired Rewards

I received a promotion in the mail in July about using the BB credit card go receive an extra reward. I decided to do it (I don’t ever use the card). Today I went on to my Best Buy account I haven’t logged into in years to see where this reward was because it hadn’t been mailed to me. After searching and not finding it I reached out to an agent via chat and they told me it expired and the only way to get it was on their website. Wondering why this wasn’t mailed to me like the flyer. Seems like a sketchy marketing ploy and the kicker is they can’t reinstate it because it’s expired?! Horrible customer service. Curious if anyone else has dealt with this nonsense.

Re: Expired Rewards

Good morning, Kolve1,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our community forums. It's always great to get a My Best Buy certificate, especially for purchases you already planned to make. I would be glad to give you some more details on how this process works.

Generally, My Best Buy certificates are valid for 60 days. Some promotional certificates are valid for 30 days and this will be listed in the terms and conditions for that offer. As you mentioned, once a My Best Buy certificate has expired it can not be reissued.

It's been several years since My Best Buy certificates have been sent via mail and I would be glad to make sure that your My Best Buy account has the correct email address so you receive notifications about these certificates in the future.

I will need some more information to do so and will be sending you a private message shortly. You can check your inbox by clicking the orange envelope in the top right corner of your screen. I look forward to hearing back from you.
