Re: Expired Rewards and COVID19

Good afternoon, Danityree,

Welcome to our community forums. Accruing rewards is one of the many great benefits to being a My Best Buy member and I appreciate you taking the time to provide us your feedback.

As you mentioned, while our store locations were closed we work working to help fulfill orders by both shipping and curbside pickup. While we are unable to reissue certificates after they have expired, I'd be happy to make sure the email address associated with your My Best Buy account is correct. Once a certificate has been issued you should receive an email to make sure you are aware.

I will need a bit more information to do so. Can you please send me a private message that includes your:

Full name

Email address

Phone number

You can send me a private message by clicking the blue button at the bottom of this post. I'll keep an eye out for your response.

Re-issue of certificate

I understand that certificates can be reissued up to 15 days after they expire but these are different times we are living in. I had a $50 certificate that expired in May that I didn’t realize with everything going on. I chatted but was told nothing could be done. Two other companies I do business with automatically extended dates without me even having to ask. With all the places to shop I make a conscious choice to shop at Best Buy but there are closer and more convenient stores.

I am very frustrated. I earned $50 in rewards for purchasing 5 things using my Best Buy credit card totaling $20 each within a specific time period. I received my rewards and there was a time limit that I had to use the $50 before it expired. Due to Covid, the store was not open except for curbside pickup. I tried purchasing online several times and every time I got an error. To be honest, it slipped my mind. I had a reminder on my phone that cane up the last night before it was supposed to expire, and I got the error message again. I kept trying, but I couldn’t add the item to my cart. I wasn’t able to make my purchase. Now I have lost my $50 rewards and I want them back. I took a picture of the error I was receiving to prove my case. Is there someone that can help me? I have been a long time customer of Best Buy and have spent thousands of dollars in the past two years.

Reward cert

I literally make as many purchases as I can at bestbuy because they’ve always done me right and the reward program is awesome. Well, when you’re certain you had set your account to auto bank and then have a $45 cert expire it really leaves a sour taste... any one ever dealt with this? I’ve obviously been avoiding going out as much as possible because of everything going on and with reduced hours spending money wasn’t my first priority anyways. Any help is appreciated
