I live in a state that has a mandated lock-down during the COVID-19 pndemic. With lock-down starting to be relaxed I was hoping to use my $145 reward certificate and pick up a new par of airpods at our local store only to find out that it recently expired.
I tried to email support but did not recevie a resonse - is there anything that can be down or consideration being given considering the extraordinary circumstances we are going through?

Thank you for being a My Best Buy member! Finding you’ve had a My Best Buy reward certificate expire would be most frustrating. I know if I let one slip by me, I feel like it’s quite the missed opportunity. With the current climate though, it's easy to understand how redeeming one might be far from one's mind.
Our My Best Buy Terms advise that certificates typically have 60 days to be redeemed, unless otherwise noted. Once expired, we’re generally unable to reissue them. We do our best to make our customers aware a certificate has been issued, as we send out email notifications that include the expiration date. As emails may be filtered, overlooked, or even blocked though, we recommend members manage their rewards from BestBuy.com, where certificates can be viewed as well. As certificates are redeemable not only in stores, but on BestBuy.com, certificate redemption periods have not been extended. For more details, you may view the articles below.

Best Buy should offer extension on status, points and certificates. Many companies like insurance, hotels and airlines are helping by discounts, extending status and points. My 149 points expired due to inactivity on 3/4/2020. I made a purchase on 5/21/2020. I meant to make appliance purchases since February but due to covid-19, they were all out of stocks, unable to be delivered, or at a store 100 miles away. I checked availability almost everyday and finally got a hold of a freezer. I know 149 points might not seem a lot but it could help me reach next certificate.
Best Buy is not making Best Buy credit card holders and members feel special. People become members or apply for the credit card because they want to save and be loyal at the same time. There are other credit cards and third party websites giving 2% to 5% cashback by using the cards or shop through their sites. In a way that people still can save without being a Best Buy members or using Best Buy credit card. If Best Buy don't step up and make their members feel special, people might as well shop where else or apply other cards.
I see quite many people are upset about this. During time like this, Best Buy should help us keep shopping at Best Buy to help business going.

I had received a rewards certificate ($30) and it expired end of April2020. With everything going on, I was unable to use timely. Is there an opportunity to have it activated?

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there have been a few questions regarding the expiration of rewards certificates. Here are a few details that should hopefully help:
* An everyday certificate should be valid for at least 60 days, unless noted otherwise on the actual certificate.
* Bonus certificates will almost always be valid for less time and are considered one-time use.
* Expiration dates are not being extended due to COVID-19.
* While certificates are treated as a form of payment, they do not have any actual monetary value.

I recently discovered that my rewards from a large purchase in January 2020 expired. I contacted Best Buy and was advised thtat there was nothing that could be done. Due to Covid I was not able to access a store for two months. I have purchased thousands of dollars of goods from Best Buyy over the last few years. Six televisions, multiple laptops and two refridgerators. Also a washer and dryer. i think this is a pretty crappy way to treat a regular customer. I told the rep that I will use up my existing rewards and from then on I will shop anywhere but Best Buy.
