Back in February, I spent over $2600 in appliances for my new house. When doing so I opted to sign up for the Best Buy credit card because it had 10% rewards back that was part of a promotional deal, getting $260 in reward certificates. I've been frequenting my local Best Buy looking for the best deal on a new 4k television (I would have spent it a month ago if it wasn't for an associate giving me incorrect information on a television, but that's another story) and have recently made a decision. Today I logged onto my Best Buy account to confirm how much in reward certificates I had when I discovered that they were all gone. Initially, I was sure someone somehow used my points without me knowing, but after doing some research I discovered they likely expired. This was shocking to me because at no time when I signed up was I informed that the reward certificates expire, nor did I ever receive some sort of notification letting me know they would expire. To top it off, as of writing this post it has only been 61 days since receiving the reward certificates.
This is an extremely frustrating situation. At this point, there's no benefit to having the credit card, as the reward certificates that were the incentive to get the card are now gone and now I'm gaining interest for no reason. I'll likely stash the card away and make my online purchases elsewhere.

I'm sorry for any confusion in regards to how the My Best Buy program and certificates work. Earning certificates to gain additional savings on your purchases is a great benefit of shopping with Best Buy. All of the information in regards to the program are detailed in the My Best Buy Program Terms, which would have needed to have been agreed to when registering for the program. Expiration details are also provided on the individual certificates. Once a certificate has expired, it may be unable to be reinstated.
