Everytime I sign off and try to log in again, I have to reset my password.

Every single time I go to the website, it says my password doesn't match your records.

 

I get the error message:

 

"Oops! The email or password did not match our records. Please try again."


When i try to sign in again...I can reset the password, but it's just really annoying having to keep doing this. And I lose out on some popular items because of this step. Please Help!

A concenus on the forms suggest you have a VPN, Ad Blocker or some anti - tracker installed on your browser. Disabling these things may help you log on.

I tend to use one or two passwords for most of my online accounts, which I know is a very bad idea; and whenever I do venture out and try using a different password, I end-up having to reset it because I can't remember.  A quick reset will usually solve the problem I created for myself; however, it sounds like you're stuck in a password reset loop and can't get out.  I'd definitely suggest double checking what hockeycanuckjc called out, as well as a few others mentioned below.  If afterwards you're still having to reset your password with each login, please send me a private message with your name, phone number and email address, and I'll take a closer look at your rewards account to see what I can do to help.

 

* Clear your cache, cookies, and Internet history.
* Add BestBuyInfo@emailinfo.bestbuy.com to your safe sender list or address book.
* Double check that you are using the U.S./English version of whichever browser you are using.
* Disable any ad blockers.
* Make sure no prior passwords are saved.
* Allow at least 15 minutes for the verification email to arrive.
* Check Spam, Junk, Promotional, or Advertising folders you may have, as emails may be filtered.
* Ensure you are on a private, non-VPN network, and that any ad-blockers are turned off.

Hi,

 

I'm having the exact same issue, on my main browser (Brave) whenever I close the browser and reopen, I'm no longer able to login to my account anymore - getting the "Oops! The email or password did not match our records. Please try again." error message; I'm sure it was the right password.

 

If I try another browser (Chrome\Edge), it will lead me to the password reset page, and I will be able to log in once the password is reset, but the next time I need to log in again I'll have to go through the password reset process all over again, essentially needing to reset password every time I want to log in. I have AD block disabled on Bestbuy and no VPN, and this only started happening in the recent months I believe.

 

Any tips on how other resolved this issue? Thanks!

Welcome to our Best Buy Support Forum! Thanks for taking the time to reach out about the difficulties that you've had with logging in on our website. I can understand that needing to reset your password every time that you try to log in, is not a welcome situation. I'd be happy to see if I can help with this. 

 

Personally, I'm not familiar with Brave as a browser, but looking at their site, it looks like they do a lot to block various tracking and other things. I realize that this is a great way to help protect your information, but this could likely be impacting your experience on our BestBuy.com website, as we also run various security protocols to help protect our customers, which could be conflicting with the browser. For our site, we do encourage you to use a commonly used browser, such as Chrome, IE, Edge, Firefox, etc. 

 

If you're still experiencing this loop of resetting your password every time you visit the site, while only using the standard browser and the other troubleshooting steps Derek had previously mentioned, I can look into a couple of other possible resolutions. I'd just need you to send me a private message with your name, phone number, and email address.
