Error in points when exchanging

I did an exchange for a computer to price match it. It had gone on sale a week after purchasing so I wanted the cheaper price. When i exchanged, it subtracted 1 pint per dollar instead of .5 points per dollar so I was left with negative points, instead of just losing the difference in points between prices. Called customer service and they said the store coukd fix it. Went to the store and was told they couldnt, customer service could. Any help fixing this would be appreciated.
