Best Buy's excuse/quote for why they canceled the Elite & Elite Plus Membership benefits is because their...

 

TotalTech provides addition and enhanced benefits beyond what our Elite/Elite Plus memberships covered, including unlimited Geek Squad support and access to a 24/7 VIP service with dedicated phone and chat teams. Many of our customers receive the full value of the membership cost within 1-2 purchases.

 

It doesn't take a college degree to read the half-truths between those lines!

 

  • Many of our customers receive the full value of the membership cost within 1-2 purchases.   FALSE!!!  
    - The Elite & Elite Plus Memberships were based on everything we purchased using the Best Buy credit card; not just the Best Buy purchases.
    - How is that the same? It doesn't even make sense...

 

  • TotalTech provides addition and enhanced benefits beyond what our Elite/Elite Plus memberships covered,  FALSE!!!
    - Elite & Elite Plus memberships did not cost the customers one
     penny!

    - TotalTech costs the customers $199.99 every year!
    - As I stated above, those memberships were based on purchases we made using the Best Buy credit card, NOT a specific purchase FOR those memberships!
    - How is that the same?

    - Every customer has the option to purchase 2 to 5 years of Geek Squad coverage when they buy items from Best Buy. Personally, I do not purchase that for every purchase I make at Best Buy, so when I do, I prefer being able to purchase 5 years of coverage for the same or less of the cost of the TotalTech membership, which only covers 2 years... from the time you purchase that membership, NOT from the date you purchase the item.
    - How is that the same?

VERY SAD... THIS WAS THE BEST PROGRAM AND YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER THAT SPENT OVER $100,000 AT YOUR COMPANY OVER THE PAST YEAR. I AM SHORTING YOUR STOCK. FROM WHAT I'M READING, YOU'RE GOING TO LOSE A LOT OF CUSTOMERS TO AMAZON.

FUNNY I IMPLEMENTED THIS PROGRAM AT MY COMPANY AND CUSTOMERS ARE LOVING US FOR IT. GO FIGURE.

I MISS THE FORMER CEO OF BEST BUY, HUBERT JOLY, HE KNEW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS.

BTW HOW'S THIS FOR AN IDEA... THOSE THAT SPEND GET THE TOTAL TECH PACKAGE FOR FREE.

The feedback we have received has been overwhelming with both positives and negatives. We make every effort to improve our customer programs, offers and services based upon the feedback from all of our valued customers.
