Best Buy always seems to contrive new ways to drive people away from their business.
I shop here a lot less than I did before since they nixed the ability to get reward points from Apple products. This after they nuked Gamers Club Unlocked perks.
Like what's the point, they're just going to find new ways to cut back to force people into premium access memberships that cost money.
I want Circuit City back...

I just realized my return policy went back to 15 days so I did some digging (and created this account) and learned of their foolish decision. I agree. I now have zero incentive to shop at best buy. And I'm not coming back. Great job Best Buy you screwed it up.

Yeah I really don't know what they were thinking with this one, other than no one but Elite members would have the money to pay for total tech and as elite members there was no reason to buy total tech. Maybe they should have realised instead that total tech was a bad idea!

I made $3,500+ in purchases from Best Buy in early 2022 for the sole reason of becoming an Elite Plus member to take advantage of the dedicated custumber support #, free shipping, extended return window, and access to special sales and events.
Those benefits were supposed to last until the end of 2023, but Best Buy decided to cancel the program right after I made the purchases. I called to inquire and was advised that I would keep the benefits, and they would email the details.
The email never came and I was not allowed to return the items as a result of their taking away the benefits I paid for.
Best Buy is nothing but a company of thieves and liars and they should be ashamed of the way they treat thier customers. Citibank that issues the Best Buy credit card is also participating in the fraud and should be avoided as well.
I hope all customers do their shopping somewhere else as they do not deserve to be in business with such pathetic unethical people working there.

Not a smart business move at all from Best Buy. Alienating those that spend the most? The CEO or lead team here is not very bright. As a dedicated customer and credit card holder since 1995, this has been the biggest let down in all of my experiences with this store. I have been an Elite Plus member since it was initiated. Have watched them continuously reduce the benefts of the program (stopped earning points with 0% financing as one example), but this is it. I am not paying $200 for something that I already earned by spending thousands each year. The only slight competitive advantange Best Buy had (and i do mean slight), is now gone. What a joke. As someone mentioned previously, Circuit City 2.0.

Best Buy Total Tech provides additional incentives beyond what our Elite and Elite plus memberships offered such as: 24/7 support, up to 24 months of Best Buy protection on your new products, free standard delivery and installation on new purchases, access to exclusive member pricing, free two day shipping, and and extended 60 day return and exchange window on most products.
I do understand that this program is not identical to the previous rewards you have been receiving as a loyal customer, but does provide some really great incentives that were not available previously. I hope that you find this information helpful!
