Spend your rewards before they nerf them too.

My Elite Plus!!! NO!!!!!

My Elite Plus status gone!!!

I just noticed that I'm now back to 15 days return policy and my elite plus is now just member.

very disappointment that BestBuy has done away with Elite and Elite Plus.

Customer Service kept encouraging to spend $200 for new membership.

every year I spend over $6k at bestbuy because I am a loyal customer and this is how bestbuy treated me.

So sad....

I will pay off my BestBuy credit card and cancel it as I will be shopping on Amazon and Costco, at least I have 30 days return policy.

good bye BeatBuy.....sad day....

Re: My Elite Plus!!! NO!!!!!

I just realized they had made this change...

Like you, I spend money using my Best Buy card and online at Best Buy to save my Elite Plus status and earn Best Buy Reward Points.

Now, I have to pay for shipping again? And separate shipping charges on each individual movie??? This will cost Best Buy a lot in sales from my account because I have always purchased $100-$300 on movies during one purchase, several times a year, plus TVs, smartwatches, and other smart items...

Their loss!

I'll find another credit card with better reward options and I will purchase my "Best Buy" items from other vendors.

Elite & Elite Plus Membership Cancellation

I am so disappointed in Best Buy.  I've had Elite or Elite Plus status for 6 years, and I just realized they had canceled my Elite Plus Membership status.

I receive so many Best Buy emails, that I do not open all of them. So, I missed the cancellation email of the Elite/Elite Plus Membership. However, I didn't miss the one stating that I needed to spend at least $3500 this year to keep that status!

I found out about the cancellation when I was forced to use my reward certificate or I'd lose it. Since I did not need anything specific, I was going to purchase a few movies I had under my "Saved Items" list. To my horror, I have to pay for shipping again! And there were separate shipping charges for each movie!!!

I always purchase $100-$300 on movies at one time, several times a year. I also purchase all TVs, smartwatches, and other smart items from Best Buy.

As a matter of fact, I have been planning to purchase a 65" Sony Bravia TV during the 4th of July sale. I guess I'll purchase that from another vendor. Their loss!

Now that I have lost my Elite Plus Membership benefits and I am forced to use my rewards points instead of banking them... I guess I will look for another credit card with better reward options and I will begin purchasing my "Best Buy" items from other vendors.

Side note: Best Buy just upped my credit card limit by another $1,000 without me asking them to. Good move when I was considering the TV purchase from Best Buy; bad move when they canceled the perks of using that card.

Re: Elite & Elite Plus Membership Cancellation

Best Buy has a program through Citi Bank and Amex where you can use your points you earn for using your credit card to pay at checkout on Best Buy with those points. They will not offset the cost at checkout but you will receive the discount as a statement credit on your account. The cards need to be linked to your account.

Thank you, but I already use that program. That was the one I was talking about. I've had one of those since 2016. That, linked with Best Buy, is the program that has been canceled. The point earnings, for Rewards, is supposedly still active, but Best Buy & CitiBank pushed the Elite/Elite Plus membership status (for extended benefits) whenever you used their credit card, and this is the program they have canceled.

Re: Elite & Elite Plus Membership Cancellation

Sorry, but I wanted to expand on one of the points I was making regarding Best Buy & CitiBank removing the Elite/Elite Plus membership status... A status that we JUST received notification about within the last 2 months!

One of the points I was making was how the Elite Plus status I have had for several years offered free shipping. Now, I have to pay shipping and Best Buy is charging shipping for every single item!

Examples of 3 movies I had marked to purchase on my next "movie binge":

Gifted [Includes Digital Copy] [Blu-ray/DVD] [2017] - Cost is $7.99. Shipping is $3.99

Now You See Me Double Feature [Includes Digital Copy] [Blu-ray] - Cost is $7.99. Shipping is $3.99

Inside Man: Most Wanted [Includes Digital Copy] [Blu-ray/DVD] [2019] - Cost is $7.99. Shipping is $3.99

Add these to your cart and the total shipping is $11.97, the sum of the shipping cost from everything in your cart.

That is absolutely ridiculous, and it feels like a violation of the trust (in them upholding their word) for the preference I showed Best Buy/CitiBank when I used their card instead of another vendor's card with similar benefits.

Re: Elite & Elite Plus Membership Cancellation

As an Elite Plus member also, I'm confused by Best Buy's actions.

It wasn't long ago that Best Buy was in dire straights financially. They seemed on the verge of bankruptcy. Then they turned things around and things seemed great. They bought Magnolia Audio and openned Magnolia high end audio stores in their stores. I actually spent about $6k in Magnolia.

Now things are headed back down...why? You did away with the Elite and Elite Plus member programs essentially eliminating your high spend customer benefits and now you are closing down Magnolia audio. Why is your company so poorly run?

Very disappointing...

Another Elite Plus Member Now Shopping Elsewhere

As an Elite Plus member also, I'm confused by Best Buy's actions. Why did you eliminate these great programs (Elite and Elite Plus)? I have already changed my electronic and technolgy spending habits since they did away with these programs. I now shop mostly in other stores that actually have always had lower prices but I shopped at Best Buy for the benefits. Now that they are gone I see no reason to shop if the price is better elsewhere.
