After a purchase of a Laptop, BestBuy promised to give me $125, in rewards. But when I checked in my account in the month of January, the amount was not credited to my account. I called up the customer care and they agreed that it was a mistake on their part and after few hours of call... they updated the amount in my account.
Few weeks ago I logged into my Best Buy account and was surprised to see that the $125 in rewards certificates is not valid.I was never intimated of the dates. It is very surprising due to the very short time frames you're given to use these.
I did not receive any kind of email notification that they were about to expire. But I continue, though, to receive a string of emails from Best Buy trying to sell me something, but never mentioned a word about my rewards unlike other stores.
It seems like they are hoping you don't know the actual dates of the reward certificates and therefore don't ever use them.
I have been a long time Best Buy customer, but I find this EXTREMELY annoying. Looks like you lost a valuable customer and for most of my electronics purchases in the future I'll be looking elsewhere.
Also I spent hours for waiting to talk with customercase representatiive

Good evening, pravatbb,
Thank you for taking the time to connect with us on the forum!
The loss of a certificate to an expiration date can feel like a missed opportunity, and I can speak from first-hand experience as I've had a certificate or two expire over the years. It doesn't matter if a certificate is valued at $5 or $100. Any amount of money we can keep in our pocket is a good feeling, as we are all looking to save a few dollars when we can.
A certificate comprised of the points you are awarded from an eligible purchase will be automatically issued and will generally be valid for a period of 60 days unless noted otherwise on the actual certificate. While a notification email is sent when a certificate is first issued, additional notification emails may not be sent prior to a certificate expiring. We trust that members will actively login to their rewards account upon enrollment, and I'd even suggest trying to login more often, if not to make sure points aren't missing, then to see if any certificates are available.
I'd like to take a closer look at your rewards account to ensure it is up-to-date and to see if there are any other questions I can help answer, so I'll be sending you a private message shortly. You can read a private message by first logging into the forum and then clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the page.
