Cannot Create Best Buy Account

Hi, I'm trying to create a Best Buy account but am encountering this issue.

Please sign in or use a different email address.

 

 

But when I go to password reset, I'm sent an email stating:

We received a request to reset your password on BestBuy.com®.

However, we don't have an account associated with this email address. You can try to sign in with a different email address.

You can also create a new account using any email address you choose.

How do I resolve this issue? I do have an existing Best Buy Membership ID (I've used this email for Geek Squad tech support).

Welcome to our community forums. I do most of my shipping online so I can imagine how frustrating it would be to go in circles when trying to log into your account. I appreciate you reaching out and would be glad to help you take a look into your My Best Buy account.

 

I do have a couple questions about how you're accessing our website. Do you use a VPN or ad-blocker? If so, I would recommend turning these off as they can sometimes cause issues. Which internet browser are you using? Is it's default language set to English?

 

I'd also like to review your My Best Buy account and will need a couple more details in order to do so. I'll be sending you a private message shortly. You can check your inbox by clicking on the orange envelope in the top right corner of your screen after logging into your forum account.

Hello Andrew,

 

Thank you for your help. I do have an ad-blocker (uBlock Origin) however, I checked on both Firefox & Chrome (both in incognito mode and the regular browser) without ad block just to check if it was a browser issue. I think I used to have a Best Buy account, so maybe it got deactivated due to age.

 

My default internet browser is Chrome and the language is English.
