I got the Best Buy 10% birthday offer on my account. However, I JUST purchased an RTX 3090 FE a couple days ago before it appeared. Would the store or a phone agent be able to apply this to my order retroactively?

Yes, I am keenly aware that it must be applied at time of purchase. However, if I do a return and repurchase in store, that would fulfill all the requirements of the offer: (a) "[v]alid on in-stock items only" (item would be in stock); and (b) "[o]ffer must be presented at time of purchase" (the offer would be presented at the time of repurchase). That should work, correct?

Thank you for taking the time to register for the forum, and Happy (early) Birthday!!!

I've reached that point where counting the number of birthday candles on my cake is exhausting, and the process of blowing the candles out takes more of inhale than I recall as a younger man.  As the years pass though, and I now have a child of my own, I've grown to appreciate sales and coupons that much more.  Any amount of money I can keep in my pocket is a good feeling, so it would be hard to turn down a coupon offering 10% off.

The birthday coupon that offers 10% off a single-item is sent to a random selection of My Best Buy members who happen to have a birthday attached to their rewards account, so there aren't any guarantees a member will receive one.  As you mentioned, the coupon would need to be applied to an eligible item at the time of purchase, so a purchase processed prior to receiving the coupon wouldn't be eligible.  A return and repurchase is definitely an option, but it depends on if the item you purchases is eligible per the coupon terms.
