At the heart of Best Buy is a very simple goal: enrich people's lives through technology. In our capacity as a technology company, at a time like this we feel more strongly than ever that we need to be here for our customers. We all know that this holiday season (this whole year), has been different. A part of that difference this holiday shopping season is adapting and growing to best serve all our customers when it is expected that more shopping than ever will be taking place online. Due to this need to adapt in general, the Black Friday Early Access event has evolved in kind. With that said, something that hasn’t changed is our dedication to ensuring your questions are answered to the best of our ability. Below, I’m excited to share 2020’s Black Friday Early Access event FAQ. Like always, we’ll be monitoring this thread so additional questions can be addressed as they come up. Before posting your question, be sure to read posts by other users to ensure it hasn’t already been answered.

Q:  What day is the Black Friday Early Access event?

A:  This year's event will take place the week prior to Black Friday on November 16 & 17.

Q:  What time does the event start?

A:   To ensure the best possible online experience we do not announce an official start time. Just picture those images we see on the news where hundreds of people are trying to fit through a store’s door on Black Friday.  It can really slow things down for everyone involved.  You should be periodically checking BestBuy.com and keeping an eye on your email and phone (if you have the Best Buy app) starting on November 16.

Q:  Who can participate in the event?

A:  Any member with an active My Best Buy™ rewards account will have access to deals during the Black Friday Early Access event on 11/16 & 11/17.

Q:  Where is the event being held? Can I go to my local store to participate?

A:  Deals will be available in-store and on BestBuy.com.  While the deal price may not be reflected on the price tag in-store, the price should update once your rewards account is attached to the transaction at the register.

Q:  What deals in the Black Friday ad will be available during the event?

A:  We cannot provide any specifics until the event goes live but there will be hundreds of items available at Black Friday prices for Early Access, including several of the Door Busters deals.

Q:  How do I access the Early Access event?

A:  Sign into your rewards account via BestBuy.com or on the Best Buy app and click on a banner that should be on the front page.

Q:  When can I expect to receive an email about the event?

A:  An email is usually sent the night before or morning of the event.  An email is not required though.  To ensure you are opted in to receive emails from Best Buy, scroll to the bottom of BestBuy.com and enter your email address next to "Get the latest deals and more."

Q:  Is there anything else I will need to do in-order to participate in the event?

A:  Just make sure that your My Best Buy™ rewards account is properly linked to your BestBuy.com account.

Q:  Can an order be placed on BestBuy.com for in-store pickup during the event?

A:  In-store pickup will be available for some of the deals.  If eligible, you will be able to choose in-store pickup during checkout. 

If you are unsure as to whether or not your My Best Buy™ and BestBuy.com accounts are linked, then please send us a private message here and we will double check.  We would just ask that you please include your name, phone #, mailing address, and email address.  Otherwise, you should be good to go.  Please feel free to post any additional questions you may have about the Black Friday Early Access event in this thread.

One more thing!  Our phone lines will not be open until 7 a.m. Central Time the day of the event, including the Elite/Elite Plus dedicated phone line.  If during past events you have called into us to place an order, then you will need to wait until at least 7 a.m. Central Time.

So, I taqke it with BF price releases in the weeks leading up to BF for everyone, there is no Elite and Elite Plus Membership Event this year?

Just part of the general public like eveyone else?

If I remember correctly they did the same last year and we still had the event.  Not everything was available with the early sale.

There is a Black Friday Early Access event this year, which you can read more about via the FAQ above.  This year's event will take place on November 16 & 17.  Besides for a couple of the major door busters, a lot of the Black Friday deals should be available during the event; however, we won't know for sure just how many deals will be available until the event goes live on Monday.

Isn't it sad, Spend thousands of dollars a year at BB, be a loyal customer, and get treated just as the average Joe Blow who shops elsewhere with his money.

What's really the point of being and Elite or Elite Plus member anymore. There really isn't one.

Haha I didn't even see this reply until I just signed onto forums out of curiosity.  Will some deals release in stages like in recent years?  Are there any PS5 related deals included? Console, games, accessories, etc.

Ignore my last reply.  I thought you were talking about the earlier sale they had.  So the actual EVENT is for everyone.  That is kinda sad.  This was the one event some of us looked forward to, and bought stuff we didn't need.  

Looking at the 'deals' looks like the event has been scaled back tremendously, probably because everyone is invited.  Oh well.  Come back here to post our grievances every year it looks like.  I guess it's at such a low point that high management thinks we should be happy there is an event at all. The below should be fixed to just 'Yes' for all levels. I haven't seen any sales or offer that's worth it.

It's 1:21am PST and the event is live...not a peep in the forums.  No sell outs, no items cancelling while trying to purchase, no carts getting emptied...this is what it has come to. 

Is it the inclusion of everyone?  The lackluster deals?  Same items on sale one week ago?  Or am I just getting older and my loyal to brick & mortar generation is retiring?  RIP to the exciting and worth the frustration Events of the past.

The Black Friday Early Access event is live and will run until 11:59 p.m. CT on 11/17, and like with the rest of 2020, this year's event may seem a little different to some.  We still hope you are able to find deals that help cross a name or two off your list.  Please feel free to post any questions or system related concerns you may encounter to this thread, and if you have any other feedback, please direct it to us in a private message here or post suggestions to IdeaX.  I've also included a couple FAQ updates below:

Hey Derek,

It's good to see you again this year!......However, in a year where there is a minimum of things to look forward to, BB really missed the mark this time. Staying up and hunting those good deals the Monday before BF has beena ritual since the beginning of Early Access. Imagine my surprise when I found out this morning that it's already live. The TV deals gone! It was disappointing to say the least. I know you have nothing to do with the strategy of this decision but the masterminds need to know that the appreciation we felt of being Elite plus members has gone away. I feel many will return the favor in kind.
