A couple months ago I bought a $900ish dollar sound bar with my bestbuy credit card and ended up returning it. A few weeks later I notice that I got a $50 reward certificate. I called bestbuy support on the phone about this and even the person I was talking to there seemed unsure/confused about it. Is it safe to just use it for another purchase?

Any certificates earned from purchases which are returned should be forfeited, as those points are removed from your account. I would be happy to look further into this with you.
