Best certificate lost

In December 2018 I tried to purchase an iPad. The clerk rang up the purchase and used my $85 certificate. During the processing of the purchase the clerk had to reboot the POS device. After a 45 minute reboot (45 minutes I can never get back) I was told that the certificate is no longer available. I spoke to the geek squander manger Eric {removed per forum guidelines} (Westland Michigan store) and he refused to honor my $85 certificate on the iPad purchase. He told me it would reappear in my account in 3 - 5 days. It has now been over 3 weeks and even though Eric gave me his card and promised to help, he has not returned any of my emails or calls. I am very disappointed to say the very least.

I am hoping your team can help. While $85 will not make or break me I can promise you I will never spend another dime in a BestBuy if this is not resolved.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your My Best Buy certificate! I'm sure you were eager to purchase your iPad with this reward certificate, and having our POS system need a restart threw quite the wrench in the gears. 

Generally speaking, if a purchase isn't completed, a certificate should remain available, if not credited back in a few days. Given this information, it was appropriate for our Geek Squad Manager, Eric, to suggest you allow this time for it to reappear. I'm truly sorry this wasn't the case and if you've had trouble connecting with Eric since. 

On rare occasions if you encounter an error during a purchase, an applied certificate may be marked as redeemed and thus won't be credited. I would be happy to look further into this with you, so I am sending you a private message. You may check your messages by signing into the forum then clicking the envelope icon in the top right corner of the page.
