Best Option For Purchasing Tv

I just received my Best Buy Visa card and have not used it for any purchases yet. I’d like to purchase a TV with it and I’m weighing the pros/cons of my options.

1) Standard Credit
+ Receive Reward Points
- Would require me to pay interest for the purchase

2) 24 month financing
+ No interest if paid within 12/24 months
- Do not receive reward points

Thank you for posting on our forum for support. Our financing and rewards options are pretty sweet, and I'm glad you received your My Best Best Buy Credit Card and can start taking advantage of the perks available when placing orders. I'm happy to provide any additional information you may need to move forward with your TV purchase.

 

As you already outlined, any purchase applied to a promotional financing offer won't qualify for points. While the purchase may not qualify for points, it should still count towards qualifying for Elite and Elite Plus status. Our members can choose between standard financing and points or promotional financing and zero points when using a My Best Buy Credit Card. You can also read more about this here.

 

In addition, you have the opportunity to earn 10% back in rewards on your first day of purchases when using standard credit within 14 days of opening your account. These rewards would show up in the form of points to your My Best Buy account within 20 days after making an eligible My Best Buy purchase (35 days for Magnolia). I encourage you to review this help article to answer any further question about this perk.
