I was recently approved for a Best Buy Visa Credit Card a few weeks ago and got the "Welcome to the My Best Buy Visa Card" with an exclusive coupon as a welcome gift. It said "Save 10% on a single, regular-priced item when you use your My Best Buy Visa Card. Promotion valid through 03/18/2023. One-time use only." along with instructions on how to redeem either online by entering the code at checkout or in-store by presenting the coupon to cashier.
I tried to apply the code to some items I was looking at (without placing any order) to see how much they would be with the code and it worked just fine a week ago. However, when I decided to purchase one of those items yesterday, it did not go through anymore. It kept showing me two error messages saying "Sorry, but the promo code is not eligible with the item(s) in your order" and "**Sorry, we couldn’t verify the information you provided.** Please try again." no matter how many times I tried.
I put different items in the cart with the code (PC, monitor, charging cable, headphones, etc.) and the results were still the same. I am certain that all the items were regular-priced and I did put my Best Buy Visa Card information as the payment method before entering the code. Other than that, I already tried switching browsers, using incognito mode, and using Best Buy app on mobile devices, and of course, none of them worked.
I chatted with Best Buy Help live agent and they seemed to have no idea about the coupon. I sent a private message in the Help Center on my card management site and they said that it could not be discussed through messaging and asked me to call them. After spending more than 40 minutes on the phone, including the wait time and transferring between agents, they believed that what they saw on my account was that the coupon could only be used in-store but not online and I would have to actually go to the store if I wanted to use it, which is absolutely ridiculous since my local Best Buy locations don't have the item I want in stock.
I checked out the Best Buy Support forum and found out plenty of customers were having the exact same problem posting on here. I am not sure if they got it resolved since all Best Buy associates replying to the posts asked them to send a private message with some information to them and I don't see anyone come back saying they got it resolved yet.
Hence, I would like to get some assistance with either getting this coupon to work online before the promotion period ends or providing another one that I can use online. Thank you in advance.
