Attempting to Confirm Activation of "Summer Reward" Offer (2018)

Here is my situation. I received the "Spend $2000 outside of Best Buy by end of August and get a $1000 Reward Certificate" email on July 15, 2018. I am 99.9% sure I clicked the link and it activated the offer.  Today I received another email with the title "It’s not too late! Activate NOW and get a $100 reward certificate."   I am confused. Did I not properly activate the offer previously or is this a blanket email to everyone that got the original email?  I've been using the My Best Buy Visa outside of Best Buy more often than usual since I "activated" the offer so that I reach the threshold to get my bonus certificate.  I just hope that all of this has not been in vain.


  1. Can anyone confirm that this offer is activated on my account?
  2. If I click the "Activate Your Offer" link again now, will that reset any progress I've made?
  3. Can someone please pass along feedback to whatever team implements these promotions? I would suggest that a confirmation email be sent when you the offer is activated (like other major credit cards do when you enroll in limited time bonus offers) and that redundant emails not be sent when someone has already activated the offer. (A reminder that your bonus is activated would be fine, just not a reminder to activate if the person already has.)


(Note: I HAVE properly received other bonuses that were activated and thresholds met since the beginning of this year.  I am just confused to see this email as I thought I had already activated the offer.)

Welcome to the forum and thank you for being a My Best Buy member! It’s awesome to hear you’ve received this outside spending offer, among many others this year. Sometimes you must activate the offers to qualify and receive your reward, but not always.


It seems like this would be a general reminder email, not directly aimed to just those who have not activated it. With that said, it is my understanding that activating it (even for a second time) would not reset your spending for the offer period, so if you want to click the activation link again to be safe, please feel welcome to do so.
