Account Help

My account was set up when I was too young to make purchases online and was set up using my mother's name. Now that I am 24 and use the account as my own I would like to have the name changed to my name. I am unable to locate where to change my name and have seen on past sites you are unable to unless Best Buy changes it. Can someone help me out?

Welcome to the forum! It was incredibly kind of your mom to set up a My Best Buy and account for you to use while shopping with us. After using the account for so long, I can imagine you're eager to get this under your own name.


You're correct in that we do not have an option for customers to update their names on their own. For privacy purposes, we review such update requests and update names where appropriate. For more details on this, you may wish to review the post below. 


How do I update my My Best Buy™ information?
